Advocate Educate Support
True North Young Adult Services provides a safe environment where young adults who have experienced the foster care system or have been affected by abuse, neglect, or homelessness are accepted for who they are, where they come from, and where they are going. Our supportive community provides secure and affordable housing, scholarship support, workshops and one-on-one coaching that develop fundamental life skills, and an accepting and fun community. Our intention is that each participant in our program develops a clear vision for their purpose in life, and knows how to provide for themselves so they can flourish independently.

OUR MISSION
We empower young adults along the Front Range to make the transition from surviving to thriving, to be self-sufficient, and to be positive contributors in their community. Using a peer support model, we provide structure to help them set their own goals and help each individual to choose their path and to make conscious decisions to break unhealthy family cycles. We are a change agent, rallying our community to offer the opportunity for our vulnerable young adults to create their own narrative.

WHAT WE DO
Make A Difference

Supportive Community
True North invests in programming and supportive services to help vulnerable youth achieve their goals. Because the young adults we serve cannot rely on familial support systems, True North and our partners fill that void by providing guidance, one-on-one coaching, care connections, financial assistance, and countless other services to help our program participants overcome barriers and find success. We partner with community agencies who provide academic support, advocacy, and life skills education. Our programming and social events also help them build a supportive network of peers with shared life experience. And when emergencies arise, we call on our supportive community to help however we can.

Polaris House
Polaris House is the residential property where True North's independent transitional housing program is run. It has been in operation since 2003, and for over 17 years, Polaris House has served youth who are survivors of abuse, neglect, addiction, delinquency, homelessness and those transitioning out of foster care services. We have provided safe, sober, supportive, affordable and compassionate transitional housing to over 165 underserved and deserving young adults between the ages of 16 - 26.

Scholarships Program
Our scholarship fund supports tuition awards for students pursuing vocational training opportunities, associates degrees, community college programs, and education at the University of Colorado. We partner with Achieving Academic Success, CU Guardian Scholars, and the TRIO program to help our scholars pursue their goals.
